The Peter Dilemma
Some defenders of the heretic Paul are quick to point out that Peter defends him and his writings with the following scripture from 2 Peter 3:14-16:
14Therefore, beloved, since you look for these things, be diligent to be found by Him in peace, spotless and blameless,
15and regard the patience of our Lord as salvation; just as also our beloved brother Paul, according to the wisdom given
him, wrote to you, 16as also in all his letters, speaking in them of these things, in which are some things hard to understand,
which the untaught and unstable distort, as they do also the rest of the Scriptures, to their own destruction.
Then conveniently or ignorantly don't mention or read the very next verse:
You therefore, beloved, as you have known beforehand, guard your souls, lest you go after the deception of those who are without The Law and you fall from your own stability. 2 Peter 3:17
What does this very scripture tell us?
1. People were NOT distorting what Paul was teaching or writing - he WAS spewing a Lawless doctrine.
2. Peter was warning to guard their souls of ANYONE who was without THE LAW - Paul clearly was which is
the ENTIRE basis of Christianity - a heretical religion.
3. The Law (Torah) is to be kept if one wishes their soul to enter the Kingdom of Heaven.
